History

The Rocky Mountain Kennel Club opened on July 21, 1949, before a sellout crowd on a 28-acre site on North Nevada Avenue. Racing there ended in 2005, and every Colorado dog track had stopped live racing by 2008.

The property was later closed, broken up into small businesses, and acquired by Copart Inc., which stores several hundred vehicles on the lot.
