Without an account

If you use My Sports History Map without signing in, your visited venues, bucket list, visit dates, notes and collections are saved only in your browser's local storage. Game photos you add are kept in your browser's storage and are never uploaded to us. They are combined into a share image on your device only when you choose to share.

With an account

We store your email address, display name, a securely hashed password, and the venues, visit dates, notes and collections you save. Notes and visit dates are private: they never appear on public profiles or in share images unless you choose to show a game date on a photo you share. Your profile is private unless you make it public.

Contributions

When you send a correction or suggestion, we store what you submit and, if you provide them, your name and email so an editor can follow up. We don't publish contributor emails.

Newsletter

If you subscribe, we store your email, the consent text you agreed to and when you confirmed. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.

Analytics

We count anonymous events such as searches, map opens and shares to understand which features are used. These events don't include your notes, visit dates or email address. Where we use a third-party analytics service, it is a privacy-focused one that does not use advertising cookies.

Advertising and affiliate links

Some pages may show ads or affiliate links. If advertising is enabled, the ad provider may use cookies as described in our cookie policy. Affiliate links are disclosed where they appear; see the affiliate disclosure.

Security

Passwords are hashed, sign-in sessions use secure HTTP-only cookies, and forms are protected against automated abuse.

Your choices

You can download or delete your data at any time from your account page. Deleting your account removes your map, notes, visits and collections. To ask a privacy question, use the contact page.
