History
Dedicated on October 18, 1924, the stadium overlooked the Menomonee Valley and was the home of Marquette's Golden Avalanche, who reached the Cotton Bowl after the 1936 season. It also hosted national AAU and NCAA track meets, including a 1934 matchup of Jesse Owens and Ralph Metcalfe.
The Packers used it in 1952 while Milwaukee County Stadium was unfinished. Marquette dropped football after 1960, and high school and UW-Milwaukee teams played there into the mid-1970s. The grandstands came down in 1976, and the site became a high-school track and soccer field.
Why it matters: Milwaukee's main college football stadium for decades and a Packers home venue in 1952.
