History
Sporting goods dealers Arthur Gordon and Hugo Koppel financed the park, which opened in June 1910 near Brush Creek. In November 1910 it hosted a Kansas-Missouri football game that set a gate record for the rivalry.
The Federal League's Packers played here in 1914 and 1915, rising from sixth to fourth place before the league folded.
The park was prone to Brush Creek flooding. It closed in June 1917 and was demolished that fall. Kiely Park and some restaurants now occupy the area.
Why it matters: It was Kansas City's major league park during the Federal League years.
