History
The field opened in 1915 as University Field and was renamed Denny Field on October 9, 1920. Alabama played there through the 1928 season, except in 1918 when no team was fielded during World War I.
Denny Stadium replaced the field in 1929. The site now holds part of a sorority row and a parking lot.
Why it matters: Alabama's football home before Bryant-Denny Stadium.
