History

The quarter-mile oval held its first race in August 1947 and ran weekly stock car racing for nearly four decades, including two NASCAR North Tour races in 1982. The last race was on September 14, 1985.

The track was razed and replaced by a strip mall branded Speedway Plaza.

Why it matters: A long-running central Massachusetts short track.
