History

The track opened in September 1984 as the Macon County Greyhound Park. On May 10, 2011, a spokesperson announced that daily racing would stop, and after five more race days to meet contracts, live greyhound racing ended on May 30, 2011.

The property continued to offer simulcast wagering and later a casino, which Wikipedia describes as fully operational as of 2022. In August 2022 the abandoned track was announced as a future rescue and shelter site.
