History
Opened in 1922 on land the university bought for its McNichols campus, the stadium was home to Titans football for more than four decades. The Lions played there in the mid-1930s after arriving from Portsmouth, and won the 1935 NFL Championship Game on its field.
After Detroit's football program ended in 1964, the stadium hosted pro soccer and a minor football team before the university razed it in 1971. The site became a parking lot.
