History
The velodrome was one of two temporary venues in Stone Mountain Park for the 1996 Summer Olympics, alongside archery. Its 250-meter track was assembled from more than 230 steel pieces, and it held the Olympic track cycling events from July 24 to 28, 1996, before a Games capacity of 6,000.
The venue came down shortly after the Olympics and was sold and reused elsewhere. Its footprint lies along the park's Songbird Habitat Trail.
