History
Miles Stadium opened in 1926 with 3,760 permanent seats and grew to about 17,000 with temporary bleachers. Virginia Tech played its last game there on November 7, 1964, beating North Carolina State.
The stadium was razed in 1965 as Lane Stadium opened. The grassy site, known as the Prairie, was built over with three residence halls in the 1990s.
Why it matters: Home of Virginia Tech football before Lane Stadium.
