History
The original LaGrave Field opened in 1926, named for owner Paul LaGrave, and was home to the Texas League Panthers and Cats. It was hit by fire and floods in May 1949 and rededicated for 1950. The Texas League last played there in 1964.
A new LaGrave Field opened on the same site on May 23, 2002, keeping the original home plate location, for an independent Fort Worth Cats club that folded after 2014. The empty stadium was vandalized, and demolition began in February 2025 after the Tarrant Regional Water District voted to tear it down.
Why it matters: It was Fort Worth's main professional ballpark site from 1926 to 2014.
